I am looking for websites for Camelia International Organization. Do you know anything about them ?

was curious and at first thought it was legit. I filled out the Contractor agreement and faxed to the toll free number. After I did that i started to think about it more and it seemed very suspicious. This job seemed too easy to get. Soon I got an e-mail from Michael Peterson stating that i will recieve my first donation in the mail. I then recieved a $4,500 cashier's check in the mail drawn off of "First Bank" Austin, Texas. The check was delivered to my door via Express mail through the local post office. The address showing were it came from showed a P.O Box in Denver Colorado. Okay! The website states that they are located in the Netherlands. Where does Colorado fit in? Also why is this check from a bank in Austin, Texas. This is just too fishy. it doesn't make sense to me. I am afraid to get involed at this point. There isn't even a phone# to call or a physical address. What makes it worse is how do you just send me a check in my name and ask me to deposit it into my personal bank account then contact you when the funds are avaliable so you can give me instructions on who to send the funds to? You don't know anything about me. No one even attempted to do any kind of interview to find out either. And why don't you send the funds directly to the families you are donating to? Why waste time an dmoney mailing checks all over from city to city then paying to Western Union the funds? Where do donations processors fit in? This is all too weird. I tried locating First Bank and there were no matches in Austin.

I am going to return the check to where it was sent from and also file an investigative report through the Better Business Bureau on legitimate charities.

I also found a web address that uses similiar information found on cameliahome.org called elynahome.com

i was not able to find anything on this "nonprofit" organization when searching for the charity company or the person who email spammed me.

after this research i am a little leary and here is some reasons for that:

1) found out the website was registered 23feb06, so it' fairly new, and offshore in a different country than the organization is located

2) google searches did turn up anything that i could find.. if this were truly a worthy legit cause, wouldn't there be more press??

3) jobs section: (a) has generic job descriptions and when trying to view more details on the position, you are taken to a blank form where you complete your information rather than being provided more details about the position (b) if you want to mail in your resume, it would need to be mailed to an international PO Box, which seems odd for a company: not sure if that's an international thing or not. also, if you want to fax it, you are provided a toll free number, which are only good in the US (c) an international organization that only has job openings in NY is a little suspicious (d) on the job details/application page, i didn't complete any details and clicked 'Submit' at the bottom. what SHOULD happen is that an error message would be seen stating some information is mandatory, LIKE YOUR NAME, but the form said it was submitted without any content... it appears to me like there is no one looking at these applications thus there are no jobs so can this really be legitimate?

in short, this is very suspicious and i would not recommend getting involved at this point... be very cautious about providing them any of your personal infomation!
